Health and Safety Program Overview Safety is a number one priority. In order to ensure employee safety, a complete overhaul of the safety program was undertaken in 2001 and has been extremely successful. The new program includes a comprehensive safety and health manual, Drug-Free Workplace policies, pre-hire orientation, safety training, jobsite inspections, Lock-out/Tag-out and Assured Equipment Grounding Programs, as well as input from field personnel. We employ an NCCER certified Safety Consultant who oversees the program.
Weekly meeting are held on each jobsite and feature a common subject. Morning meetings are held on large sites each day to discuss that day’s activities as well as to inform employees of any hazards specific to their work that day. Quarterly safety meetings are held for all employees and feature a pertinent training topic, usually suggested by project managers or supervisors based on what they witness in the field.
Weekly jobsite inspections are made and employees are written up for violations. All incidents/accidents/near misses are investigated by the Safety Consultant, with the cooperation of other employees, and are discussed at quarterly meetings to prevent repetition.
All electrical equipment is inspected and tagged in accordance with our Assured Equipment Grounding Program. Ladders are inspected and tagged under the same color guidelines.
We believe strongly in education and offer many training opportunities for employees. Project Managers and supervisors are required to attend OSHA 10 Hour classes and maintain current First-Aid/CPR certification.
Our safety record is available for potential clients upon request.
